Artist's Statement: On Photography, Photography is a very different creative process to other forms of art. Photographers
are observers of the world. Every living soul observes; but photographers see what others don't, and see from from view
points that others don't use.
On My Photography, Our mind's internal universe maps what is out there in the material universe. Whereas we all share the
same universe, each person's internal universe varies, because the "mapping" is a subjective process. I am gifted with,
and have crafted the ability to show you the images in my internal universe. So when one views my work, one sees the
world through my understanding of it. The hope is the viewers find joy in seeing the world through my eyes, because
they find it so pleasantly different to their own.

Meet Artist Hanh Tran and see her full current body of works - Inspiration for Hanh's explosive and
canvases colorful are typically evoked from meeting a person or seeing beauty in nature. Colors arise as her
emotions are realized about certain subjects. People also illuminate with colors to the artist. As Tran approaches
a canvas, her subject matter is often secondary to the colors she feels. Heavy, sweeping, broad strokes of oil
paint communicate for her as the image emerges from the work. Layers of thick paint become almost three-dimensional
or possess a sculpture-like quality. The self-taught artist admits she is motivated to paint when the stress of
daily life becomes prominent and she finds comfort in the release of expression.
She has donated paintings to the Woman's Advocacy Project, Camp Hope (AIDs Foundation Houston) and Breast Cancer
Awareness as well as benefited the following organizations through her public exhibitions and charity auctions:
Artbridge, Child Advocates of Fort Bend, The Alzheimer's Association, Project Sunshine, Pink Door Non-Profit and
The Sunshine Kids Foundation. In her free time, Hanh helps kids with arts and crafts by volunteering at the Museum
of Fine Arts, Houston and with the Sunshine Kids Foundation.

David Adickes' career as a painter and more recently as a sculptor, spans many years. After receiving a bachelors
degree in math/physics, Adickes went to France and studied from 1948 to 1950 with modern French master Fernand Leger.
He returned to Houston and began a painting career which led to dozens of one-man shows in the U.S. and France.
Several museums and hundreds of corporate and private collectors own his work.

CITYCENTRE district's Hotel Sorella and Sculptures by Design Studio will feature a travel-centric photography exhibition to coincide with the National
Business Travel Association's (NBTA) International Convention & Exposition in Houston this month. The work will be on display in Hotel Sorella's
luxurious second floor lobby lounge from Saturday, August 7, 2010 through Wednesday, August 11, 2010 and will thematically feature travel-oriented
photographs submitted by eleven established and burgeoning Houston based photographers. The NBTA's International Convention & Exposition, referred to
as, "The Business Travel Event of the Year," hosts some 5,500 attendees from around the globe, representing over 400 companies. This year's convention,
held in Houston, TX, offers multiple workshops, lectures, and social events, and features esteemed speakers such as Sir Richard Branson, Condoleezza Rice,
and Lance Armstrong.
Several established Houston artists' work will be on display at Hotel Sorella, including established Houston photographers; Jim Olive, Tony Andre Gaines,

CITYCENTRE and Hotel Sorella are pleased to help promote the work of Houston artists during the NBTA's International Convention & Exposition. This
travel-themed exhibition at Hotel Sorella further augments CITYCENTRE's established arts agenda, by adding a programming component to existing cultural
initiatives. Art and design are critical elements of CITYCENTRE's overall identity, as evidenced by the district's on-site curator and gallery, Sculptures
by Design. Says district curator Holly Denslow, "Establishing a gallery space in west Houston at CITYCENTRE allows us to reach a passionate community of
Houston art enthusiasts in an underserved area, close to where they live and work." The work chosen for this particular exhibition is apropos as an
accompaniment to the NBTA's International Convention & Exposition, one of the world's largest yearly travel conventions.

Valerie G., born in New York City, currently resides in Houston, Texas. She has studied ceramic sculpture and pottery with June Woest
at the Urban Artists Studio, and her other artistic influences include Molly Heizer, Melinda K. Hall and Javier Lopez Barbosa.
Sculptures By Design specializes in metal, glass, stone and bronze sculpture as well as oil paintings, assorted mixed media,
monuments and custom works. The most recent and fresh works of art are showcased at CITYCENTRE.

Stellar sculptor and painter. She has recently been taken under the wing of professional artist John Palmer as one of his Escapists.
Featured regularly at both of the Sculptures By Design Studio locations and currently on exhibit within the Norris Conference Center.
